Men’s Track and Field dominates field at Cedarville Invite

Tiffin University dominated the 24-team field at the Cedarville Invitational, winning with 192.50 points.

The Dragons outdistanced runner-up Cedarville by 104 points, as the Yellow Jackets finished with 88 points. Hillsdale was third with 78.

The men's field athletes fared well in this meet starting with the shot put as Nikolas Curtiss took first with a throw of 19.78 meters (NCAA Automatic Qualifying Mark), Ralph Casper was second with a throw of 19.16 meters (NCAA Automatic Qualifying Mark), and Benedict Draghi in third with a throw of 16.63 meters (Provisional Mark)

Dorian Holida finished first in the triple jump with a leap of 14.27.

Cade Carter came in fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.36.

Garrett Wilson took first place in the javelin throw with a mark of 61.38 meters (Provisional Mark) and teammate Lloyd McCurdy placed fourth with a throw of 51.66 meters. 

Cameron Burrows led the trio of high jumpers with a first-place finish and a mark of 2.14 (NCAA Automatic Qualifying Mark), Joseph Holida came in third with a jump of 1.90, and Jacob Goudy in fifth with a leap of 1.90.

In the discus throw, Ralph Casper finished first with a throw of 50.20 (Provisional Mark)John Casper came in second with a throw of 49.90, and Draghi finished fourth with a throw of 48.08.

The team of Brent Balla, Michael McNeil, Dean Johnson, and Stephen Powell took first in the 4 x 100 meter relay with a time of 42.72.

Errik Snell took the second spot in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.34 (Provisional Mark) and teammate Mason Plant came in third with a time of 14.45 (Provisional Mark)

Jonte Baker finished first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.66 and Elijah Gauldin in second with a time of 10.67.

Dorian Hooker came in second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.79 and Quincy Scott came in fourth with a time of 21.85.

The quartet of Dean Johnson, Isaiah Robinson, Lenell Shelby III, and Michael McNeil took second in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 3:23.57.
