Ralph Casper became the 10th Tiffin University Men's Track and Field athlete to win a National Championship, as he captured the title in the shot put at the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama.

Casper and teammate Nikolas Curtiss finished 1-2 in the event, dominating the field and claiming First Team All American honors in the process.

Casper won with a put of 19.18 meters (62-11.25), edging out Curtiss's throw of 18.93 meters.

Casper had been 3rd in the nation heading into the event with a throw of 18.78 but his championship throw easily beat that mark.

Curtiss is now a six-time All American in the shot put, earning four of those honors during indoor competition. He finished 4th overall in 2019 after placing 10th in 2018, and had the second best throw in the nation last year before the championships were canceled due to Covid-19.

In the only other men's action for TU on day two, Quincy Scott landed Second Team All American honors with a 9th place finish in the long jump.

Scott leaped 7.17 meters (23-6.25) to snag the honor. He is now a three-time All American in the long jump, earning one honor in 2019 with a 7th place finish. He also had the 2nd best leap in the nation last year before the championships were canceled.
