ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Jonte Baker advanced all the way to the 60m at the 2020 USATF Indoor Nationals last weekend as five athletes and one coach from Tiffin competed on the national stage.
Errik Snell (60m hurdles), Quincy Scott (long jump), Nikolas Curtiss (shot put), Jabari Bennett (shot put), and Toryko Grace '19 (weight throw, current Assistant Throws Coach) also took part in the prestigious qualification-only event.
Baker finished eighth in the First Round of the 60m on Friday with a time of 6.67 that easily qualified for the Semifinals, where he bested that time on Saturday morning with a 6.62-second mark that earned the sixth spot out of eight in the afternoon's Final.
In that Final, Baker was competing against some of the fastest sprinters in not only the country, but the world, as current 60m World Record holder Christian Coleman was in lane five for the race. From lane one, Baker ran his second 6.67 mark of the championships, finishing eighth.
