Dragons men in 2nd heading to final day of GLIAC Championships

Tiffin University posted a number of champions on day two of the GLIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, with the men sitting in 2nd place while the women were in 10th.

For the men, they trail Ashland in a dogfight 55-44 heading to the final day. Overall they are 2nd of 12 teams. 

TU got its best showing in the long jump, where the Dragons dominated the competition by sweeping the top three spots. Marquise Corbett won his second consecutive GLIAC title with a provisional jump of 24-7.75, while Kevin Roberts also hit a provisional mark with a 2nd place mark of 7.32 meters. Cameron Burrows was 3rd for TU with 7.09.

James Ngandu also won the 10,000 meters, also his second straight GLIAC title, in a time of 30:49.01.

In other finals action, Davis Bowers finished 8th in the javelin, while Adam Lett was 8th in the decathlon.

Qualifying for finals action on day three are Mackenzi Rickman and Errik Snell (110 hurdles), Reginald Thomas and Shaquille Hildreth (100), Hildreth and Michael King (200), King (400), Nico Hudson (800), and Ethan Brakefield and Kerwin Jackson (400 hurdles).

In women's action, Deborah Brodersen won the heptathlon with 4929 points, while Alexis Cloud took 3rd. Brodersen also finished 3rd overall in the javelin with 124-6.

Other finalists were Miaisha Blair with a 5th place finish in the long jump with 18-4.25, and Miranda Mondozzi with a 6th place mark in the hammer throw with 181-3.

Reaching finals action on day three will be Kristen Massey and Alexya Peoples (100), Peoples (200), Adaysha Parker (400), Emma Gielink (100 hurdles), and the 4x100 relay team.
