Dragons excel at April Fool's Invite

Tiffin University had another strong showing in their outdoor season, winning numerous events on both the men's and women's side at Otterbein College's April Fool's Invite.

On the men's side, TU easily outdistanced the 11 team field, while the women were neck-and-neck with Otterbein for first place. With 17 events scored, the Dragons trailed Otterbein 172-168. Final results on the women's side will be posted as soon as available.

Mary Boyden had the top performance for the Lady Dragons, hitting a provisional mark and winning the shot put with a throw of 45-9. Monica Carson took second with 39-6.

TU had eight other winning efforts on the women's side. Carson picked up a win in the javelin with a toss of 94-6, while Emma Gielink won two events. She won the 100 hurdles in 15.16 and the triple jump with a distance of 36-2.

Other individual champions included Alexya Peoples (100 in 12.59), Miaisha Blair (long jump with 17-9), and Brittany Holbrook (high jump with 5-3). The 4x100 relay team of Blair, Adaysha Parker, Peoples, and Kristen Massey won in 48.73, while the 4x400 team of Madison Doss, Holbrook, Parker, and Peoples also won in 4:04.46.

Other top finishers included Anaiyah Strickland (2nd in 100 hurdles), Dalaney Rogala (2nd in high jump), Mariah Mackey (3rd in 100 hurdles), and Carlee Marshall (3rd in high jump).

On the men's side, it was another big night for Coy Blair, as he hit another automatic NCAA mark in the shot put with a toss of 63-1. Dylan Cornwell shattered the school record in the pole vault and hit a provisional mark with a clearance of 16-9.25, and Cameron Burrows also hit a provisional mark in the high jump with 6-10.75.

Other champions included Mackenzi Rickman (110 hurdles in 14.55), Chance Abbitt (400 in 49.62), Nico Hudson (800 in 1:57.09), Adam Lett (400 hurdles in 56.68), Davis Bowers (javelin with 169-11), and the twin titles of Kevin Roberts (long jump with 27-7.75 and triple jump with 48-4).

The 4x100 relay team of Duane BoydReginald ThomasShaquille Hildreth, and Michael King also won in 41.67.

Other top finishers included Antonio Atkins (2nd in 100), Ethan Brakefield (2nd in 400 hurdles), Bowers (2nd in pole vault), Jalon Monigan (2nd in triple jump), ,Ryan Donnahoe (2nd in shot put), Nigel Carlton (3rd in 800), and Zane Lawrence (3rd in shot put).
