TU hits 13 provisional marks at Northwest Invite

Tiffin University's men's indoor track squad hit 13 provisional marks in their first invitational after the holiday break, posting numerous standout performances at the Northwest Ohio Invite hosted by the University of Findlay.

Eight first place finishes were logged by the men's squad. The 4x400 relay team of Michael King, Drew Hickman, Macerio Clark, and Kerwin Jackson dominated with a time of 3:22.16, but King and Clark were not done with winning just the relay. King also posted a win in the 200 in 22.37, while Clark took the 400 in 50.73.

As good as those results were, none of them hit provisional marks. Tiffin's overall depth was seen in a number of events, including the shot put, where four Dragons hit provisional marks though none of them took first place

Jay Feuerstein was 3rd with 55-5.5, while Ryan Donnahoe was 6th with 54-5.25. Coy Blair was 7th with 53-3.25 and Davion Bowers was 8th with 52-8.25. All were provisional marks.

The same thing happened in the weight throw. Blair waas 3rd with 67-4.25 while Toryko Grace was 9th with 59-7. Both throws were provisonal qualifiers.

Provisional qualifiers who won their events were Cameron Burrows (high jump, 6-9.75), Davis Bowers (pole vault, 15-8.25), Marquise Corbett (long jump, 23-9), Jalon Monigan (triple jump, 49-3.5), and Reginald Thomas (60, 6.83). TU's Duane Boyd (2nd, 6.86) and Jonte Baker (3rd, 6.87) were also provisional performers in the same 60 meter race.

Chance Abbitt also finished 2nd in the 400 for the Dragons in 50.73.

For the women, two events saw TU produce winners. Emma Gielink won the triple jump with 36-6.75, while the 4x400 relay team of Alexya Peoples, Adaysha Parker, Madison Doss, and Carlee Marshall won in 4:07.74.
