Dragons shine at Tiffin Dragon Open

Tiffin University dominated the field at the Tiffin Dragon Open, totaling 17 first place finishes covering both the men's and women's events.

For the women, Emma Gielink and Adaysha Parker were multiple winners. Gielink posted wins in the 60 hurdles in 9.32 while also winning the triple jump with 35-10.5. Parker, meanwhile, posted wins in the 200 in 25.71 and the 400 in 58.43.

Carlee Marshall and Dalaney Rogala tied for the top spot in the high jump, clearing 5-1. Miaisha Blair won the long jump with 17-2, and the 4x400 relay squad also posted a win in a time of 4:15.04.

Other top finishers for the women included Mariah Mackey (2nd in the 60 hurdles), Marshall (2nd in the long jump), Mary Boyden (2nd in shot put), and Maria Stoddard (3rd in the pole vault).

For the men, there were more standouts. Coy Blair won the shot put with a provisional toss of 56-11.5 while also winning the weight throw with another provisional mark of 19.73 meters.

James Ngandu easily won the mile in a time of 4:19.98, while Reginald Thomas led a strong 60 meter field with a provisional time of 6.79. Adam Lett won the 800 meters in 2:03.54 while Shaquille Hildreth won the 200 in 22.03.

Dylan Cornwell was the pole vault champion, clearing 15-11, while Marquise Corbett nearly hit an automatic qualifying mark in the long jump with a school record mark of 24-11.75. Kevin Roberts won the triple jump with 43-7.75, and the 4x400 relay team of King, Monigan, Abbitt, and Clark won in 3:23.5.

Second place finishes were turned in by Jonte Baker (60), Collin Blochlinger (high jump), Davis Bowers (pole vault), Roberts (long jump), and the 4x400 relay team of Brakefield, Lett, Cole, and Gibboney.

Other top finishers included Errik Snell (3rd in 60 hurdles), Wan'ya Williams (3rd in 60), Michael King (3rd in 400), Ethan Brakefield (3rd in 800), Duane Boyd (3rd in 200), Zachery Majeski (3rd in high jump), Cameron Burrows (3rd in long jump), Ryan Donnahoe (3rd in shot put), and Toryko Grace (3rd in weight throw).
