TU dominates field at SVSU tri

Tiffin University's men's squad hit 9 more NCAA provisional marks as they competed at the SVSU Trimeet featuring Saginaw Valley State, Northwood, and the Dragons.

All the provisionals were hit by the men's team, including four shot put qualifications. Coy Blair won with a put of 59-7, followed by Jay Feuerstein with 55-11. Zane Lawrence was 3rd and Ryan Donnahoe was 4th with provisional throws.

Blair also won the weight throw with another provisional mark of 64-8.75 while Toryko Grace was 2nd with a provisional mark of 60-6.

TU also got another provisional mark from their field events from Dylan Cornwell, who won the pole vault with 15-7.

In the running eventsMackenzie Rickman won the 60 hurdles in a qualifying time of 8.19, while Michael King hit another mark in the 400 with 48.67. TU dominated the 400 meters, as they took the top 6 spots in the race, including Chance Abbitt in 2nd place.

Nigel Carlton also won the 800 in 1:58.32, while the 4x400 relay team of King, Abbitt, Jalon Monigan, and Adam Lett also won in 3:17.53. Other top finishers included Errik Snell (2nd in 60 hurdles) and Antonio Atkins (2nd in 200).

For the women, there were no provisional marks hit but plenty of first place finishes. Adaysha Parker was a double winner, taking the 400 in 58.06 and the 200 in 25.69. 

Emma Gielink won the 60 hurdles in 9.14, while Brittany Holbrook won the high jump in 5-4.25. Mary Boyden was another winner, taking the shot put with 43-3.75.

Other top finishers included Alexya Peoples (2nd in 400), Hana Mehok (2nd in weight throw and shot put), and Carlee Marshall (2nd in high jump).
