Corbett shatters long jump record at Kent State

Tiffin University's Marquise Corbett shattered his own long jump record at the Kent State Tuneup, posting an automatic NCAA qualifying mark wiith a huge leap of 25-0.75 (7.64 meters), as the Dragons once again had a sollid showing in weekend track and field action.

Corbett's mark was not the only automatic qualifier, as Reginald Thomas also got one in the 60 meters with a blistering time of 6.69. 

Two other Dragons won events, as Mackenzi Rickman hit a provisional mark in winning the 60 hurdles in 8.13, while Nico Hudson won the 1000 in 2:33.88.

Toryko Grace was 2nd in the weight throw with an NCAA provisional mark of 61-1.5, while the 4x400 team of Michael King, Jalon Monigan, Chance Abbitt, and Macerio Clark were also 2nd in a time of 3:18.53.

Jay Feuerstein was 3rd in the shot put with 57-0.25 (provisional mark), Shaquille Hildreth also hit a provisional mark in the 200 in 21.78 (3rd place), and Nigel Carlton also took 3rd in the 800 in 1:54.96.

Other top finishers included Michael King (4th in 400), Jonte Baker (4th in 60), Victor Bezak (5th in weight throw), and Dylan Cornwell (5th in pole vault).

For the women, Adaysha Parker was the top finisher, taking 2nd in the 400 in 57.43. 

Other top finishers included Miaisha Blair (4th in long jump), Dalaney Rogala (4th in high jump), and Mary Boyden (5th in shot put).

On Friday, TU competed at the Findlay Meet For Everyone, hitting a number of other provisional marks. Coy Blair won the shot put with 60-1.75 while also winning the weight throw with 64-2.25, both provisional marks.

Other provisional marks were hit by Davion Bowers (3rd in shot put with 54-5.5), Toryko Grace (3rd in weight throw with 62-6), Ryan Donnahoe (5th in shot put), and Zane Lawrence (6th in shot put). 

Cameron Burrows was also 3rd in the high jump with 6-7.

For the women, Mary Boyden hit a provisional mark in the shot put with 46-6.75. 

Deborah Brodersen was 2nd in the high jump with 5-2.5, while Alexis Cloud was 4th in the 60 hurdles in 9.58.
