Tiffin hits the road against Battlers, Fighting Scots

Tiffin University returns to the road to take on Alderson Broaddus and Ohio Valley in two big GMAC contests this week.

The Dragons are coming off a tough 2-1 loss to Cedarville after a 4-1 decision against Ohio Dominican earlier in the week. The loss coupled with a recent hot streak by Ohio Valley puts TU in a tie with Ohio Valley for second place behind 5th ranked Lake Erie, still unbeaten in the conference at 8-0. 

Tiffin is led by Leo Hasenstab, who ranks 2nd in the GMAC in goals with 8 and is also second in points. Darren Appanah is also amongst conference leaders with 5 goals and 2 assists, placing him 9th in goals and 8th in points.

Other top scorers for TU include Eduardo Carvalho with 3 goals and 3 assists, Joel Daly with 3 goals and 2 assists, and Caleb Gibbons with 2 goals and 2 assists. Abdoul Magid Sy also has 4 assists on the season.

Dylan Morris continues to lead a rock solid defense with a 0.52 GAA and 29 saves.

For the Battlers, they come in to the game with TU having dropped three in a row. They have a 3-0 loss to Cedarville, 6-2 setback vs. Walsh, and a 1-0 loss to Malone in their last outing. Their offense is also ranked near the bottom of the GMAC in 10th place.

Yannick Coffi leads the attack with 2 goals and 3 assists, while Carlo Gonzalex has 2 goals and 2 assists. Nevado Elliot also has 3 goals.

Eduardo D'Avino mans the nets for the Battlers, making 42 saves and posting a 1.54 GAA.

Ohio Valley looks to move up the region rankings with a win over the Dragons, while TU (ranked 5th in the Midwest Region) will try to maintain their position with an eye to the NCAA regionals. For the Fighting Scots, the offense is spread around, with David Bercado leading with 5 goals and Hugo Kadima with 4.

Other offensive leaders include Juan Hoyos with 3 goals and 2 assists, Carlos Barcia (2 goals, 2 assists), and Nicolas Rodriguez (3 goals). 

Stevens Velez was recently named GMAC Player of the Week and splits time in the nets with Santiago Rojas. Velez has a 0.70 GAA with 13 saves, while Rojas has a 1.00 GAA with 20 saves.
