Types of Club Sports

·    Club Sports are created because the interest demands an opportunity for students other than varsity athletics or because no varsity team exists. The team trains and is eligible to compete and actively pursues participation in registered extramural, regional, national or open tournaments/competitions. The sport is also governed by a National Governing Body from the Olympic family or established NGB with developed standards of participation. The sports must also promote a balanced lifestyle of wellness and physical activity.

·    Intramural Sports clubs provide a variety of activities to meet the needs of a diverse campus community. The program offers both competitive and recreational activities that focus on getting students, faculty, staff and affiliates of the university involved in activities that promote lifetime fitness and wellness practices. Participating in Intramural Sports does not require any prior experience and is a great way to become involved while in college.

Club Sports and Intramurals Mission Statement

The vision of Tiffin University’s Club Sports is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in a variety of clubs, enhancing their college experience through sportsmanship, leadership, team development, and community involvement.

The Club Sports Program offers a variety of recreational, competitive, and instructional clubs to fit almost any student.

Each club is a student organization officially recognized by Undergraduate Student Government and composed primarily of students, while at the same time encouraging faculty and staff interaction.

Clubs are formed, developed, governed, and administered by the student membership of that particular club with the guidance of the club advisor and the Assistant Athletic Director of Club/Intramural Sports.

The Intramural Sports Program serves the students, faculty, and staff of Tiffin University through a commitment to offering a wide variety of competitive activities for players of all skill levels and interests.

Qualified staff provides a fun, yet structured environment that focuses on the health, safety, and developmental needs of all Intramural Sports participants.
