Gary Heminger

Gary Heminger (Class of 1977) is recognized as one of the most dedicated supporters of Tiffin University athletics. Dr. Heminger served on TU’s Board of Trustees from 1991-2014 and as the University’s Board Chair from 1996-2014. During his tenure, the University completed two fundraising campaigns which raised over $18 million. As part of the campaign, Dr. Heminger and his wife, Jane, made a generous contribution to TU for the construction of a state of the art recreation center, the Heminger Center, which has not only enhanced student life but been accessible to the local Tiffin Community. He also contributed to the development of Heminger Field, the home of Tiffin baseball, which was named for his father. Dr. Heminger was also a member of Tiffin’s first intercollegiate baseball team and was the winning pitcher in Tiffin’s first ever victory. Dr. Heminger currently serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Marathon Petroleum Corporation.
