Nate Cole is the most successful football coach in Tiffin University history. He served as Head Coach from 2003-07 and holds the record for career winning percentage (.655), going 36-19 over that span. He is a three-time Coach of the Year honoree, earning NCAA National Independent Coach of the Year in 2004 along with 2006 D2Football.com Independent Coach of the Year and 2007 GLFC Coach of the Year. He led the team to two GLFC titles in 2006 and 2007 including a school record 10-1 season in 2006. Overall he coached players garnering 2 All-American and 10 NCAA All-Region picks, including NFL standout Nate Washington. He was an all-conference offensive lineman from 1991-94, playing for Hall of Fame coach Bob Wolfe and reaching the NAIA playoffs in 1993 and 1994. As an assistant coach for Tiffin, he was named the 1999 MSFA Assistant Coach of the Year. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration from Tiffin University. He currently serves as a collegiate athletic director and is married to his wife, Amy, with two children, Cooper and Taylor.
