Volleyball Sets Single-Match Blocks Record on Senior Day

 

The Dragons (17-13, 11-8 G-MAC) ended the regular season with a bang, posting a record 21 total team blocks in a 3-1 victory over Northwood.

Northwood took its one and only set victory in the first set before Tiffin's defense clamped down. Defensively, the Dragons held their opposition to a negative hitting percentage in the three remaining sets while also tallying a record-breaking 21 total blocks.

Prior to the match, TU ranked fourth in the nation in total blocks with 249.5 and 20th in blocks per set with 2.33.

Tiffin dominated the final three sets with set victories of 25-17, 25-11, and 25-17.

Kenedi Goon led the team with 10 kills followed by Addison Conti with eight and senior Alivia Rew with seven. Conti added 22 assists and seven digs for the match. Wakaya Wilson and Kaylee Freund both contributed with six kills each as well.

Fruend posted a team-high 10 total blocks on the defensive end while Rew added eight. Olivia Karhoff led the Dragons with 15 digs followed by Josie Reinhart with 11.

Tiffin won six of their final seven matches of the regular season and now await who they will be facing in the opening round of the G-MAC Conference Tournament.
