Dragons Sweep Saints for Back-to-Back Wins

 

Playing in their second match in as many days, the Dragons (13-12, 7-7 G-MAC) took care of business in dominating fashion with a 3-0 sweep of visiting Thomas More.

After taking an 8-5 lead early on in the first set, Tiffin caught fire with 10 consecutive scores behind six kills from Wakaya Wilson. It was smooth sailing for the Dragons the rest of the way as they took a 1-0 lead.

TU continued its strong play offensively in the second set, nearly leading from start to finish. The Dragons tallied 14 kills in total on .306 percent hitting.

The third and final set was the most competitive of the three. Tiffin held a 15-10 lead before the Saints battled back to tie it at 16-16. Later tied at 20, the Dragons went on a 5-1 run to close out the match.

Wilson led the way with a team-high 10 kills. Kenedi Goon added eight while Addison Conti and Alivia Rew both contributed seven. Setters Conti and Clare Kwiatkowski tallied 22 and 14 assists respectively. Freshman-setter Maggie Pavlansky also made her collegiate debut, recording a dig.

Olivia Karhoff posted 16 digs followed by Josie Reinhart with seven. Kaylee Fruend once again led TU in total blocks with four while Taylor Peterson added three of her own.

Tiffin will be back in action on Tuesday, October 31st when it hosts Ohio Dominican at 7 p.m. on Halloween Theme Night.
