Tiffin Unable to Top Thomas More

The Dragons (11-12, 5-7 G-MAC) traveled to Kentucky for their first matchup against Thomas More but ultimately came up short in a 3-1 defeat.

Following a narrow defeat in the first set, Tiffin bounced back well with a 25-17 victory in set number two to even the match at one apiece. TU recorded 13 kills on .175 percent hitting, both of which would go on to be highs for the match.

Set number three saw the Saints jump out to an early 4-0 lead, a lead which the Dragons slowly chipped away at and eventually tied the set at 15-15. Thomas More then went on a 7-2 run which earned it a comfortable enough buffer to see out the set victory.

Tiffin battled hard to force a fifth set, of which they remain unbeaten in five-set matches but struggled offensively to put runs together.

Taylor Peterson led the Dragons offense with 11 kills followed by Wakaya Wilson with nine and Addison Conti and Kaylee Fruend each with seven. Conti also led the team in assists with 22 while adding seven digs to her credit. Clare Kwiatkowski added 18 assists and six digs.

Olivia Karhoff finished with a team-high 19 digs while Wilson contributed with 14 of her own. Alivia Rew totaled six kills and led the team with five total blocks followed by Wilson with four.

The Dragons now have a three-match stretch on home court, beginning with Cedarville on Friday, October 27th at 7 p.m.
