Unbeaten Walsh too much for Tiffin in 3-1 Defeat

The Dragons (10-8, 5-5 G-MAC) matched up against top-of-the-conference Walsh, falling short in a 3-1 defeat on the road.

The Cavaliers improved to 17-0 and 9-0 in conference play and are currently just outside the top-25, ranking 26th in the AVCA Division II Women's Volleyball Poll.

The Dragons started off the match on a 4-1 run thanks to two kills from Wakaya Wilson. The lead did not last long as Walsh stormed back to take a six-point advantage at 17-11. The tide would later shift once again as a 7-2 run by the Dragons pulled them back to within one. However, the Cavaliers did enough to hold off Tiffin's intentions to win set one.

The second set was just as close as the first, but tied at 19, TU rattled off seven consecutive points to even the match at 1-1.

Tiffin's offense struggled in set number three, totaling just 8 kills on a -0.033 hitting percentage as Walsh cruised to a 2-1 lead for the match.

The fourth and final set was another fiercely competitive one as the Dragons hung close throughout the entirety of it. Trailing 20-18, kills from Wilson and Kenedi Goon leveled the set before a 5-0 run sealed the victory for the Cavaliers.

Three Dragons tallied double-digit kills including Wilson with 12, Goon with 11, and Rew with a season-high 10. Addison Conti recorded a double-double for the second match in a row with a team-high 18 assists and 11 digs. She was followed by Clare Kwiatkowski with 17 assists.

Defensively, Olivia Karhoff posted 19 total digs for the match while Rew and Goon both recorded three total blocks.
