Dragons Unable to Bring Down Eagles in 3-1 Defeat

Tiffin University (9-7, 4-4 G-MAC) battled the Ashland Eagles in a matchup of the top two teams in the G-MAC South Division, but ultimately came up short 3-1.

In front of a packed-out crowd at the Gillmor Student Center, the Dragons got off to a great start as they took an early 7-2 lead. Ashland surged back with six consecutive points to take the lead at 8-7. Tiffin hung with the Eagles throughout the set but fell 25-20, falling behind 1-0.

The Dragons' offense caught fire in set number two, recording 16 kills in total on a massive .448 hitting percentage. Addison Conti and Wakaya Wilson led the way with five and four kills respectively for the set. A win in the second set leveled the match at one apiece heading into the third set.

Unfortunately, Tiffin was unable to replicate its offensive success in the third and fourth sets. The Eagles took advantage and earned strong victories in the final two sets, despite long and competitive rallies from the Dragons.

Kenedi Goon led the team with 14 total kills, her second-highest tally of the season thus far. She was followed by Wilson with 11 and Josie Reinhart with nine. Conti posted 27 assists along with her five kills and eight digs on the night.

Defensively, Olivia Karhoff amassed 19 digs while Reinhart added 12 as well. Alivia Rew accounted for three of Tiffin's seven total blocks and contributed four kills offensively.

The three-match homestand comes to an end as the Dragons get back on the road to take on Malone and Walsh this coming Friday and Saturday.
