Tiffin Sweeps Ohio Dominican on the Road

The Dragons (7-4, 2-1 G-MAC) took care of business on the road in a 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 28-26) victory over the hosting Panthers of Ohio Dominican on Friday night.

Tied at seven in the first set, Tiffin rattled off five-straight points including two kills from Wakaya Wilson to take a 12-7 lead. The Dragons held a four-point advantage before ODU went on a huge 9-0 run, taking a commanding five-point lead. Tiffin recovered well and scored a 9-2 run to end the set thanks to two service aces from Lexi Barber.

The Dragons trailed 8-7 in the second set before kills from Kaylee Freund and Wilson sparked yet another run. Tiffin took a commanding lead and held on throughout the remainder of the set to take a 2-0 lead overall for the match.

The third and final set was another tight one despite the Dragons taking an early 6-1 lead. The Panthers did not back down easily and fought back to tie the set at 13 apiece. Tied at 25, ODU scored on a kill to take set-point advantage. Back-to-back kills from Wilson swung the advantage in favor of Tiffin before a bad set by ODU sealed the sweep for the Dragons.

Wilson led Tiffin in kills with 10 and recorded a double-double, adding 13 digs for the night. She was followed by Taylor Peterson and Kenedi Goon with nine and eight kills respectively. Addison Conti also posted a double-double after tallying 30 assists and 13 digs for the match.

Olivia Karhoff ended with a team-high 18 digs while Alivia Rew collected five total blocks. She was followed by Goon with four total blocks and Wilson and Fruend each with three.

The Dragons have a one-day break before heading to Ashland to face the Eagles on Sunday, who currently sit atop the G-MAC South Division standings.
