The Tiffin University volleyball squad (9-11, 4-6 GMAC) fell 3-1 to Hillsdale.
The Chargers won 25-17, 25-12, 20-25, and 25-14.
Tiffin started well, holding an 8-7 lead early, but the Chargers went on a 4-0 run to lead 18-12. Hillsdale outscored Tiffin 7-5 to win the first set 25-17.
The Chargers started set two strong, going on a 6-0 run that forced a Tiffin timeout. Tiffin scored four to make it 10-4, but Hillsdale went on a 10-1 run to lead 20-5. The Dragons had a late surge outscoring the Chargers 7-2, but the visitor's lead was too large, and they won the second set 25-12.
After going down in set three 5-1, Tiffin countered with a 10-2 run to take an 11-7 lead. The Chargers chipped away at Tiffin's lead and tied the game at 15-15. The Dragons outscored Hillsdale 10-5 the rest of the way, taking set three 25-20.
In the fourth set, the Chargers kept up the pressure and jumped out to a 12-5 lead. Hillsdale held a ten-point cushion the rest of the set and went on to win 25-14.
The Dragons' offense was led by Josie Reinhart with 13 kills, a .211 hitting percentage, six digs, one assist, and one solo block, Kenedi Goon tallied 11 kills, with a .139 hitting percentage, 13 digs, and two block assists, and Clare Kwiatkowski recorded 34 assists, five digs, two kills, and one block assist.
