The Tiffin University volleyball team was defeated by Hillsdale 3-0, winning in straight sets 25-20, 25-23, and 25-8.
The Chargers' attack led the way as they had 42 kills with a .231 hitting percentage compared to the Dragons' 30 kills with a .068 hitting percentage.
The Dragons kept it close in the first set until the Chargers went on a 5-1 run to lead 16-11. After a Tiffin timeout the Dragons went on a 5-1 run of their own to cut the Chargers lead to one at 17-16. The Chargers' defense prevailed as a block from Allyssa Van Wienen and Madeline Zenas gave Hillsdale the first set 25-20.
The Chargers jumped out to a 12-6 lead in the second set and led by 21-10 at one point but the Dragons fought back, outscoring the Chargers 13-3 to put them behind Hillsdale 24-23. The deficit was too much for the Dragons and Hillsdale took set two 25-23.
The Chargers jumped out to a 13-4 lead and went on to win the third set 25-8.
Grace Schreiber led the team with nine kills with a .200 hitting percentage, four blocks, and two digs followed by Olivia Karhoff with eight kills and a .231 hitting percentage, 15 digs, and four blocks.
Loryn Huffman tallied 25 assists, nine digs and one block and Sam Fallis recorded 13 digs and one assist.
