Huffman Earns Academic All-American Honors

2019 Academic All-America Teams

AUSTIN, Texas - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the 2019 Academic All-America Division II volleyball teams on Tuesday, and Tiffin senior Jenna Huffman was named to the Second Team.

This is Huffman's first Academic All-American honor, and first-ever for the Dragon volleyball program.

Carrying a 3.88 GPA in Management, Huffman has been at or near the top of the nation in multiple statistical categories throughout her senior season. With just eight teams left in competition during the upcoming final weekend of the Division II NCAA Championship, Huffman is currently leading all of Division II with 4.76 kills per set, 5.34 points per set, 13.21 attacks per set, and 562 total kills. She is also third in total attacks with 1,559.

The awards keep piling up for the outside hitter in her final campaign, as she has already received AVCA Third Team All-American, AVCA First Team All-Midwest Region, D2CCA First Team All-Midwest Region, First Team All-GMAC, First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District, and received the GMAC Player of the Week honor twice.

Twenty-two student-athletes were named to the Academic All-America volleyball squads, with seven on the First Team, eight on the Second Team, and seven on the Third Team. Huffman was the only member of a GMAC school represented, and one of four Midwest Region honorees.
