Dragons Swept By Knights

URBANA, Ohio - Tiffin volleyball went on the road for a midweek nonconference matchup at Urbana University on Tuesday, falling to the Blue Knights in three very close sets (26-24, 25-22, 26-24).

The Dragons fall to 7-7 on the season, but will look to keep their 2-0 GMAC record unblemished as they travel to Alderson Broaddus and Ohio Valley this weekend.

Tiffin struggled on the attacking end in the match, hitting .125. Otherwise, the numbers were fairly similar, with both teams recording two aces, 20 attack errors, and Urbana holding a slight edge in blocks at 10-8.

After a back-and-forth first set, Tiffin was close to pulling out a win with a 24-23 lead, but the Blue Knights rallied with three-straight kills to take the set and go up 1-0.

The second set was close as well, but Urbana was able to pull away late for a three-point victory. Set three ended very similarly to the first set, as Tiffin once again took a 24-23 lead only to have it slip away as Urbana put through back-to-back kills before the final point was awarded to the Blue Knights on a ball handling error.

Jenna Huffman finished with 15 kills and 15 digs for Tiffin, while Kyndall Hellyer added nine kills. Grace Schreiber had four block assists, and Sam Fallis notched 13 digs. Loryn Huffman handed out 32 assists while also recording 11 digs.
