TIFFIN, Ohio - Tiffin women's volleyball took another two-set lead on Sunday afternoon, and were able to hold off Seton Hill's comeback and earn a hard-fought 3-2 victory (25-20, 25-21, 28-30, 23-25, 15-11).

With the win, the Dragons improve to 5-6 on the year heading into conference play next week. Seton Hill falls to 4-4 on the season.

The final numbers were about as close as they could be, with Tiffin holding a 71-70 advantage in total kills and a .217-.214 advantage in hitting percentage, while the Griffins registered 210 attempts to TU's 207. The Dragons also recorded 12 aces to Seton Hill's eight.

Set one was close throughout, but Tiffin was able to go on a run late and take a 22-18 lead before Jenna Huffman finished off the set with a kill to make it 25-20.

The second set belonged to the Dragons to start, as the home team jumped out to leads of 6-0 and 10-3. The Griffins slowly clawed their way back into the set, cutting the deficit to just two at 22-20, but kills from Kyndall Hellyer and Grace Schreiber helped put the set away and give Tiffin the four-point win.

Set three was the definition of back-and-forth, with 17 ties and nine lead changes. After Seton Hill took a 24-22 lead late, Tiffin rallied behind two kills from Jenna Huffman and a Schreiber ace to go up 25-24 and earn a match point. The Griffins battled back, though, tying things up and eventually taking a 30-28 victory to stay alive.

Set four continued the trend, as neither team gained a lead of more than three points until Seton Hill scored four-straight to go up 21-16. The Dragons nearly came back again, cutting the deficit to 24-23, but the Griffins would score and force a fifth and final set.

Tiffin was able to pull away late in the final frame, breaking an 8-8 tie with three-straight points behind the serving of Maddi Rammel. Jenna Huffman then took matters into her own hands, earning back to back kills before a pair of blocks ended the set and gave Tiffin the 3-2 match victory.

Jenna Huffman finished with a game-high 25 kills along with 19 digs, while Grace Schreiber added 15 kills and five aces. Alicia Kessler also tallied 10 kills on the afternoon and Sam Fallis chipped in 23 digs. Loryn Huffman was nearly perfect from the setter position, dishing out 57 assists with just one error.

As mentioned, GMAC play gets underway next weekend as the Dragons open on the road at Lake Erie on Friday and Ursuline on Saturday.
