The Tiffin University volleyball team knew it would be tough to come up with a sweep on their second and final day of competition in Portland. Tiffin handled their business in the first game, dropping Western Oregon 3-1. The second contest was a clean sweep in favor of nationally ranked Northern State.

The Dragons were much better on the attack against the Wolves, but still had to scrap and claw their way to a four set win. The opening set went Tiffin's way, but it was a close one. The Dragons eked out a 29-27 victory, collecting 15 kills while forcing the Wolves in to nine attack errors.

It was a bit easier in the second set as the Dragons rolled to a 25-18 win. Tiffin produced their highest hitting percentage of the match at .286. The Dragons compiled 16 kills while committing only four errors.

The Wolves flipped the script in the third set, defeating Tiffin 25-18. Western Oregon's attach was precise, committing only two attack errors while posting a .467 hitting percentage.

TU responded in the 4th set, maintaining a slim one or two point lead throughout the set to secure the match with a 25-23 victory.

The Dragons were led offensively by Jenna Huffman and Amanda Curry, as both accumulated a baker's dozen worth of kills. Curry also earned selection to the All Tournament team for her strong four-game performance. Sydney Gilland was efficient for the Dragons, posting 12 kills and a .312 hitting percentage.

In the nightcap, the 9th ranked Wolves of Northern State came to call upon Tiffin, and made quick work of the Dragons. Northern State defeated Tiffin in straight sets 25-14, 25-14, and 25-19. The Wolves were highly efficient offensively, totaling only four errors in 79 total chances for a .506 hitting percentage. The Dragons hit at a .232 clip as a team, and were led by Jenna Huffman with 10 kills.

Tiffin will return home 2-2 on the year, and will now prep for the Warrior Invitational beginning on August 31.
