Dragons Hitting Their Stride Heading Into Postseason Play

The Tiffin University volleyball team is one of the hottest teams in the GLIAC as they have rolled to six straight victories. Tiffin will put their streak on the line this Wednesday as they travel to Houghton, Michigan for a GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinal match.

Series Record: The Huskies hold an 8-2 advantage over Tiffin since the two programs began competing against each other in the GLIAC. Michigan Tech has a six game winning streak against Tiffin, with the Dragons last win coming on October 7, 2011.

Last Matchup: Tiffin has already been to Houghton once this year, falling 3-1 to the Huskies. Michigan Tech's attack was lethal, hitting at a .339 clip with 75 total kills. The Huskies are 2nd in the GLIAC behind the high flying Dragons with a GLIAC leading 1,541 kills.

Rolling Along: The Dragons have won six straight games and 10 of their last 12 matches. Tiffin leads the GLIAC in kills this year and nationally are 8th in total kills. The Dragons sit high amongst the ranks of Division II programs in several stats, ranking 17th in total blocks, 10th in total attacks, and 13th in team assists. 

Record Year: The Dragons earned their 20th win of the year last Saturday, the first time such event has occurred since the 2006-07 season. Taylor Lattimore has left her mark on Tiffin and the GLIAC, sitting 2nd all-time in career digs in both record books. Taylor currently leads the GLIAC in total digs and is 22nd in the nation in total digs. 

Walling Off The Net: The Dragons defense is 17th in total blocks this season, led by the 130 total blocks by Jenna Huffman. She is tied for 2nd in the GLIAC in total blocks and nationally is 14th in total blocks. 

Tiffin's Unsung Hero: Tiffin University senior Danielle Hicks has quietly put together a nice season with 289 kills, averaging 2.45 kills per set. Over the course of Tiffin's six game winning streak Hicks has logged 69 kills for a 3.14 kills per set average.
