The Tiffin University volleyball team extended their winning streak to three games with a win over Davenport on Friday night. The Dragons have won seven of their last nine matches, and need only one more win to qualify for conference postseason competition.

The Dragons and Panthers exchanged points for the first few serves, and then it was the Dragons that blew down the house. With the score tied 9-9 the Dragons made their move, finishing the set on a 16-7 run to win the set 25-16.

The Dragons got off to a hot start in the 2nd set, going ahead 7-3. Davenport slowly chipped away at Tiffin's lead eventually tying the score 14-14. Tiffin managed to rebuild their lead to four points late in the set, but a short lapse by the Dragons allowed Davenport to pull within a point at 22-21. Tiffin had no problem slamming the door on the Panthers, using three kills to go ahead two sets with a 25-21 win.

Davenport earned the third set win with a .342 hitting percentage and 18 kills as the Panthers dropped the Dragons 25-19.

The final set was tight with the score being tied six different times. The Dragons maintained a small lead throughout the entire set, fending off short Davenport runs to stay ahead. After Davenport tied the score at 24-24, Danielle Hicks put the finishing touches on the match, hammering a pair of kills for a 26-24 fourth set win.

Amanda Curry tied a season high in kills slugging 19 and posting a .444 hitting percentage. Kasey Adelsperger and Danielle Hicks came to the aid of Curry offensively, each swatting 12 kills. Jenna Huffman stuffed the box score as usual, posting 9 kills, 18 digs, and 3.5 blocks. Tiffin's defense at the net continued to give opposing teams headaches, collecting 11 total blocks.

The Dragons improve to 17-12 overall and 8-6 in the GLIAC. The Dragons will look to lockup a birth in the GLIAC Tournament tomorrow, taking on Purdue Northwest in search of their fourth straight win.
