It was a rough way to open GLIAC competition, as the Tiffin University volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-16) to the Wayne State University Warriors in Detroit.

In the opening set, Tiffin accumulated their most kills in any set, 12, but committed seven errors for a .116 hitting percentage. The Dragons scored the first point of the set, and then Wayne State countered with an 8-0 run. Tiffin fought back, using a 5-0 run to knot the game at 10-10, but the Warriors finished the set on a 15-7 run to drop TU 25-17.

Wayne State remained hot in the 2nd set, bolting ahead to another 8-1 lead. The Dragons couldn't muster up a run like in the initial set, and the Warriors rolled to a 25-11 win. The Dragons had their worst set statistically, hitting at a -.125 mark and collected only four kills.

The final set was more of the same for the Warriors, opening the set with a 10-3 run. Tiffin continued to battle, pulling to within three points at 18-15, but the Warriors had another run left in them. Wayne State ended the match on a 7-1 run to drop the Dragons 25-16.

Jenna Huffman and Amanda Curry led the Dragons with five kills each. Taylor Lattimore finished with 14 digs, eclipsing the 2,000 dig mark for her career. She is only the fourth player in Tiffin history to eclipse the 2,000 dig mark.
