Several Athletes Qualify for Finals on Day Two of GMAC Championship Meet

The Tiffin University women's track and field team had several athletes qualify for the finals on day two of the GMAC Championship Meet.

Brook Boes was crowned GMAC Champion in the Discus with a throw of 49.88 meters, hitting an NCAA DII Provisional mark.

A trio of Dragons were in the top ten in the long jump as Jazilee Williams led the group with a leap of 5.54 meters, putting her in second. Marisa Gwinner came in fourth with a mark of 5.37 meters, and C'airra Carter finished in ninth with a leap of 4.99 meters.

Ines Macadam took first in the 800-meter prelims with a time of 2:11.95, hitting an NCAA DII Provisional mark.

Three Dragons qualified for the 100 hurdles as Amirah Strauther led the way with the second-fastest time at 14.37, Rajiah Andrews in fifth with a time of 14.62, and Jazilee Williams in seventh with a time of 14.94.

Rajiah Andrews also qualified for the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.05 and was third in the 200-meter prelims with a time of 24.87.

Overall TU was in sixth place after 7 events. The championships conclude on May 6.
