Women's Tennis Receives Academic Honors From ITA

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2020 Division II Women ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams on Tuesday morning, with the Tiffin women earning the team award and ten Dragons receiving individual honors. 

In 2020, 762 Division II Women student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 129 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

Individually, the ten Dragons honored were Shea Foster, Courtney Fyvie, Anais Geslin, Jacqueline Kamps, Dominique Matich-Reynolds, Lauren Prince, Abbie-Jade Riley, Emily Sim, Juliette Sirgant, and Bailey Young. Across the GMAC, Tiffin, Findlay, and Walsh each had ten honorees while Hillsdale earned seven. 

Tiffin was also one of four GMAC programs to earn the team honor, joining Findlay, Hillsdale, and Walsh. 

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

  • have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
  • be listed on the institutional eligibility form

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

  • have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
  • all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
  • all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
