Women's Tennis Earns Four All-GMAC Honors

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) has announced the 2019 Women's Tennis All-Conference teams and Tiffin women's tennis has earned two First Team selections and two Second Team selections.

Abbie-Jade Riley and Emily Sim garned the First Team recognitions, while Juliette Sirgant and Lauren Prince received the Second Team accolades.

The awards were announced at the GMAC Championship ice cream social last night in Owensboro, Ky. in advance of the semifinals starting this morning. The Dragons enter as the 3-seed, taking on Walsh in semifinal action.

This is Riley's first all-conference award, as the junior stepped up to lead the Dragons from the No. 1 singles position and went 4-3 in conference play. Sim receives her third-straight all-conference nod, earning GLIAC First Team honors last year and Second Team honors in 2017. Sim played out of the No. 2 spot, going a perfect 5-0 in conference play and 11-4 overall on the year.

Riley and Sim also teamed up for No. 2 doubles together, going 4-1 in GMAC action and 8-4 on the season.

Prince earns her second all-conference honor in a row, receiving All-GLIAC Honorable Mention selection last year. The junior played primarily from the No. 4 spot this season, going undefeated in conference play at 6-0 along with 14-6 overall.

Sirgant was nearly unbeatable from the No. 3 position this season, going 13-1 on the year and a perfect 7-0 in conference action. The junior is one of just two GMAC women's tennis athletes to finish and win her match in every conference matchup this season, joining Findlay No. 1 and GMAC Player of the Year Samantha Sweet.

Prince and Sirgant also formed a formidable No. 1 doubles pairing, going 4-2 in conference play.
