Kvitchenko, Dunleavy heading to NCAA Nationals

Tiffin University's Anastasiia Kvitchenko and Morgan Dunleavy will be heading to the NCAA National Swimming and Diving Championships held at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama March 8-11.

Kvitchenko was selected after hitting a time of 2:04.45 in the 200 butterfly. This is her second NCAA qualification in the 200 fly, as she earned Second Team All American last year with an 11th place finish. She also competed in the 100 butterfly at last year's meet, finishing 20th.

Dunleavy, a junior, will be shooting for her third All American honor, having finished 3rd in the 1 meter dive last year and earning Honorable Mention All American in her freshman season. Her finish last year was the highest finish ever for a TU swimming and diving athlete. She will be competing in the pre-qualification round on March 7 after hitting a mark of 264.84 against Gannon.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that TU has had competitors at Nationals in their four-year old swim program. Last season was the first time they have posted multiple All-Americans in the same year. Kyle Doss landed the honor in 2014 while Morgan Dunleavy garnered All-American honors in 2015.

"I'm extremely happy that we have these swimmers going again," said Head Coach Noah Moran. "It will be a great atmosphere there, as it will be held in the same facility that will also be hosting the national track and field and wrestling championships, so we expect a number of TU athletes to make their mark in Birmingham."
