The Dragons finished off a perfect weekend with a 2-1 double overtime win over Davenport University.

The Tiffin University women's soccer team made it a weekend sweep, rallying to defeat Davenport University 2-1 in double overtime.

The Dragons, feeling confident after their 5-1 win on Friday, found themselves in a defensive struggle in the 1st half. Tiffin held a 6-4 advantage in shots in the half, but were unable to find the net. Both teams attempted two corner kicks, with neither side having any offensive luck. Tiffin keeper Samantha Ortenzi saw Davenport take four shots with only one coming her way.

The early stages of the 2nd half were a continuation of the 1st, but in the 63rd minute Taylor Lewis struck gold. Lewis nailed a shot off a rebound that beat the Panthers' goalkeeper to give Tiffin a 1-0 lead. With a little over five minutes remaining, the Panthers drew even with an unassisted goal to force overtime.

The first overtime was all about survival for Tiffin. The Panthers came out aggressive on the offensive end, firing five shots with all being wide of the mark. The Dragons' lone shot in the period did require a save.

It was Tiffin's turn to be the aggressor as the second overtime began, and Tiffin made their shots count. With a little over five minutes left in the game, Tiffin's third shot of the overtime found pay dirt. Svetlana Gudenkova, having an assist to her credit already, fired a shot that ricocheted off the keeper right back to her, and on the second attempt Gudenkova didn't miss as she gave Tiffin a 2-1 victory.

Gudenkova finished the game with three points on seven shots. Taylor Lewis scored her second goal of the season on a pair of shots. In goal, Ortenzi finished strong, saving seven shots.

The Dragons sit 3-6-1 overall and 2-1 in the GLIAC. Tiffin will return home next Friday for a matchup with the Ferris State Bulldogs.
