The Tiffin University women's soccer team will continue their march through the GLIAC, taking on Purdue University Northwest and Davenport University. The Dragons are coming off a tough 1-0 defeat at the hands of Ashland University.

Tiffin University vs. Purdue Northwest

The Pride: Purdue Northwest has gotten off to a rocky start this season, going winless in six matches. The Pride are 0-2 in the GLIAC, falling to Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech.

Offensive Outage: Purdue Northwest has the worst offense in the GLIAC and one of the worst in the nation, scoring only one goal in six games. The opportunities to put the ball in the net have been few and far between, as they have attempted only one corner kick so far. As a team the Pride have attempted only 25 shots with 11 coming on goal.

Holy Goals: The opposition has had a field day against the Purdue Northwest defense, scoring 26 goals in six games. The Pride has surrendered five or more goals four times this season. Teams have peppered the Purdue Northwest keeper, firing 134 shots with 88 coming on goal. 

Last Time Out: The Pride came close to picking up their first win of the season, falling 1-0 to Michigan Tech. After shutting out the Huskies in the 1st half, the Pride surrendered a goal in the 53rd minute that decided the game.

Who's the Goalkeeper?: The Pride switched their keeper in their last game, turning to junior Lucie Ashmore. In 90 minutes of action, Ashmore surrendered only one goal and saved 10 shots.

 

Tiffin University vs. Davenport University

Panthers: Davenport sits 5-2-1 overall and is acclimating well to GLIAC competition. The Panthers are 1-0-1 in GLIAC games, posting a win over Michigan Tech and then battling to a 0-0 draw against Northern Michigan.

Cornering The Panthers: Davenport leads the GLIAC in corner kicks, logging 64 this season. In their past two games, Davenport has logged 17 corner kicks.

Can't Score If You Don't Shoot: The Panthers have totaled 122 shots this year, and in four of their eight games they have fired 20 or more shots.

Davenport History: The Panthers, a member of the WHAC last season, finished 18-2-1 at the NAIA level. The Panthers defeated three ranked opponents on their way to the WHAC Championship game.

Dragons: Tiffin sits 1-6-1 overall and 0-1 in the GLIAC. Tiffin came out last Sunday and went after the Eagles, firing 23 shots with seven on goal. The Dragons surrendered a goal with a little less than 10 minutes left off a corner kick, dropping Tiffin 1-0. Tiffin's offense came mighty close a couple times, striking the crossbar twice to be denied goals.
