Nicholas Mason pulled out a dramatic pinfall victory to take third place at the NCAA Division II National Championships.

In the third-place match, Mason trailed throughout the close match but he reversed things quickly against Cole Huss of Northern State, getting the victory in 6:34. It marked his third pin at nationals and cemented his lead as Division II falls leader.

Mason opened his day in the semifinals against Dalton Abney (Central Oklahoma), who knocked Mason into the consolation bracket and remained unbeaten at 25-0 with a fall in 6:35. Mason bounced back in the next round, though, winning by decision over Noah Ryan (St. Cloud State) 8-3.

The win also marks Mason's third All-American honor, as he was previously honored in 2019-20 and won the 197-pound National Championship in 2018-19. He finished the season with a mark of 31-7.
