Bronne, Mason jump in national falls leaders

Hayden Bronne and Nicholas Mason are making their mark in NCAA Division II wrestling.

Coming off strong weekend performances at the Regionals Duals held at Belmont Abbey, both grapplers appeared in the national Division II rankings for falls. 

Bronne is second in the nation overall with 11 falls, and leads all 184 pound wrestlers. He trails Mason Thompson of Central Oklahoma by just one fall for the national lead. Bronne dominated the field at the Regional Duals, winning all six of his matches via pin to vault into the second spot in the country.

Mason, meanwhile, was right behind, posting 8 pins to tie for 6th in the nation. He is also second nationally at 165 pounds in pins trailing Thompson of Central Oklahoma. He also excelled at the Regional Duals, getting 5 wins by fall.

TU now takes on 3rd-ranked Ashland Feb. 3 on the road at 7 pm.
