Dragons Receiving Votes in NWCA Preseason Rankings

The Tiffin University wrestling team received eight votes in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Preseason Poll, and had two wrestlers receive votes in the individual rankings.

The Dragons finished last season 9th in the nation, scoring 34.5 points at nationals. Individually, Giuseppe Penzone is 12th in the nation at 125 pounds. Penzone is 36-41 over the course of his career, and returns this year after only seven decisions in the 2016-17 season. Trey Grine is the highest ranked Dragon, checking in at 7th at 149 pounds. Trey qualified for nationals last season at 141 pounds and posted a 32-11 record.

The start of the 2017-18 season is right around the corner for Tiffin, opening up at the Michigan State Open on Sunday November 5. For the first time in a long time Tiffin will have a pair of home games this year, hosting Lake Erie on February 7, and Findlay on February 10.
