Big fourth quarter leads to 11-8 win over Bobcats

Tiffin University (3-3) had a big fourth quarter, outscoring West Virginia Wesleyan 6-1 in the quarter to win 11-8.

The Dragons fell behind early 3-0. The Bobcats expanded their lead to 5-1 near the end of the opening quarter and appeared to be in control. A scoreless second quarter left the score at 5-2, West Virginia Wesleyan.

The turning point came late in the third quarter when the Bobcats lost their second player of the game to yellow cards, giving TU a huge advantage for the remainder of the game.

Lillian Graham took advantage of the opportunity, scoring all three of her goals over the final 17:00 of the game, including the go-ahead goal with 9:39 left in the game. 

TU held a huge shot advantage 42-18, allowing just 11 total shots over the final three quarters. They also held a 28-13 ground ball edge and won the draws 15-8. They also forced 32 total turnovers.

Katelyn Jarvis led the team with 4 goals, 7 ground balls, and 5 caused turnovers, while Graham finished with 3 goals. Gabby Wilson also had 3 goals along with 2 assists and 5 draws.

Gabrielle Beals finished with 8 draws, 8 ground balls, and 5 caused turnovers along with a goal and assist.

Jenay Rennie got the win in goal, making 5 saves.
