Walsh streaks past Dragons 19-7

Tiffin University (1-9, 1-2 GMAC) could not keep pace with Walsh, allowing 15 first-half goals en route to a 19-7 loss.

The Dragons got off to a solid start, scoring the first two goals. Daniela Carey opened scoring and was followed less than a minute later by a goal from Jenny Bates from a Gabby Wilson pass.

Walsh quickly equalized with two goals before Carey added another goal off another assist from Wilson to put TU ahead 3-2.

It was all Walsh from that point on, as the Cavaliers tallied 13 unanswered goals. TU did not score again until Carey added an unassisted goal with 3:43 left in the first half. At the break, Walsh led 15-4.

Carey added two more second-half goals to finish with 5 in the game, while Wilson added a goal in the fourth quarter. 

Overall Walsh outshot TU 34-18 and won the ground ball battle 15-7. TU had 15 turnovers while Walsh committed only 9.

Carey led with 5 goals and 4 draws, while Wilson had a goal and 2 assists with 8 draws. Bates added a goal and assist.

Jenay Rennie took the loss in goal, making 6 saves over 60 minutes.
