Dragons remain unbeaten with 20-9 win over Senators

Tiffin University remained in first place in the G-MAC with a 20-9 win over Davis & Elkins on a cold, damp Senior Day at Frost Kalnow Stadium.

The Dragons (8-6, 4-0) traded shots with the Senators throughout most of the first half, actually trailing at the 17:52 mark of the game 3-1. Tiffin turned up the defensive pressure, however, rallying to score three straight goals to take a 4-3 lead. Elle Hamilton tallied two of those scores, with Maddy Batley getting another.

With the score tied 5-5 at the 8:48 mark, Tiffin found its rhythm, scoring 6 unanswered goals to close out the half. Batley and Hamilton scored two more goals apiece, while Leah Davis and Ashley Osbeck also scored. 

Tiffin got two more goals to open the second half, as Amie Morrison and Daniela Carey got in on the action to push TU's lead to 13-5.

Tiffin went on a 5-2 run to open the half, boosting its lead to 16-6. TU and the Senators traded shots the rests of the way as Tiffin closed out the game with goals by Davis and Batley.

Despite battling back and forth with the Senators early, the Dragons controlled the tempo, outshooting their opponent 36-19 including 21-9 in the first half. 

The Dragons also controlled the draws 19-12 (10-4 in the second half), while also winning the ground ball battle 15-4. 

Hamilton had another big day, scoring 6 goals with 4 caused turnovers, 4 ground balls, and 8 draws. Batley also had a field day, scoring 5 goals with 2 assists and 8 draws.

Morrison had 3 goals and an assist, Carey had a goal with 3 assists, Osbeck had 2 goals and 4 assists, and Davis had 2 goals. Regan Rich also added a goal.

Kat Schneeberger got the win, making 7 saves over 60 minutes.
