Home Is Where The Wins Are

The Tiffin University women's lacrosse team has enjoyed the comforts of home over the past week, defeating Wheeling Jesuit and St. Thomas Aquinas at the friendly confines of Frost-Kalnow Stadium. That run of home games will continue on Sunday, as Tiffin hosts the Shepherd University Rams.

Location: Frost-Kalnow Stadium - 300 South Monroe St. Tiffin, OH 44883

Series Record: Shepherd holds a 4-2 series lead, with the first matchup between the schools taking place on April 9, 2010. That game turned out to be a 14-11 win for Tiffin, only their 2nd win in program history.

Last Matchup: The Dragons and Rams last played on March 27, 2015 with Tiffin defeating the Rams 11-8. The win was only the 2nd for the Dragons over Shepherd, and was the first since the 2010 season.

Rams: Shepherd has had a rough start to 2017, losing six straight games before defeating the Northern Michigan Wildcats, in their first year of competition. With the exception of two games, the Rams have lost most of their games by double digits, losing by an average of eight goals in their six losses.

Where'd The Ball Go? : The Rams are one of the worst teams in the nation when it comes to ball control, averaging 21.86 turnovers per game, 93rd of 100 NCAA Division II teams. On the flip side, they don't cause many turnovers, forcing only 6.29 per contest, 81st in the nation.

Fire At Will: Opponents have fired 212 shots at the Rams this season, with 162 coming on goal. The opposition is averaging 30.3 shots per game, and connecting on 46.2% of their attempts.

Goalie Report: Casey Hickman is the keeper for the Rams, playing and starting all seven games. She has 65 saves on the year, allowing 13.86 goals per game.

Dragons: Tiffin enters the matchup back at .500 with a 3-3 record. In their previous two games, Tiffin overpowered the opposition, winning by an average of 11 goals. It has been a year of close calls for the Dragons, losing their three games this season by an average of only 3.33 goals.

Defender's Delight: The Dragons defense is causing 9.83 turnovers per game, 31st in the nation and 2nd in the GLIAC. Last game alone, Tiffin forced 12 turnovers, with eight being forced.

Free Position Power: Tiffin boasts the 4th best free position percentage in the nation at .636 (14-22).

Why All The Cards? : Tiffin is tied for the GLIAC lead in yellow cards, and is 16th in the nation in the category. The high amount is due in large part to the Dragons' aggressive defensive play.

Walling Off The Net: Kat Schneeberger continues to be a part-time mason, building a brick wall between the pipes. Her goals against average, 9.20, is 29th in the nation. She also ranks 44th in the nation in save percentage.
