Dragons advance to NCAA National Championships

Tiffin University qualified for the NCAA National Championships for the second time in its history with a fifth-place finish at the East Regional held in Springfield, Illinois.

The top six teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team advanced to the championships. The championships will be held May 16-20 at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri.  

The Dragons posted a total of 910 after a 303 score in round three. That mark was six strokes off their round-two pace but seven strokes better than their 310 opening round.

Findlay won the regional with 862 followed by Indianapolis with 875 and Grand Valley State with 894. Wayne State took fourth with 902, followed by Tiffin and Missouri-St. Louis (929).

The Dragons are returning after landing a National Championship nod in 2022 for the first time. The fifth-place finish marks the second-highest finish ever for a TU women's golf team at regionals.

Lisa Marie Schumacher finished tied for sixth with 216. She shot 71 in round three, matching her round two score.

Jordan Van Meter came in second for TU with 230 with Amanda Johansson right behind with 233. Michaela Lindahl closed out her tourney with a 234 score, while Alexis Savage finished with 236.
