The Tiffin University women's basketball team defeated Trevecca Nazarene 75-58, with Dana Rose hitting a career-high 21 points shooting 8-for-9 from the field.
The Dragons improve to 11-11 overall and 8-8 in the GMAC, while the Trojans fall to 4-18 overall and 3-13 in the GMAC.
The Dragons started hot, opening the game with a 10-3 run in the first five minutes of play, but the Trojans responded with a 7-2 run to cut the lead down to 14-9. Tiffin ended the first quarter on a 9-2 run to lead the host 23-11.
With the score 28-16, the Dragons outscored TNU over the next four minutes 9-7 to lead 37-23. However, the Trojans ended the first half on a 9-5 run to bring the score to 42-32 at the half.
The Trojans went on a 5-2 run to start the second half to bring the score to 44-37, but the Dragons responded with a 9-2 run to lead 53-39 with three minutes left in the third quarter. Trevecca was able to outscore the Dragons 8-5 through the rest of the third quarter but the Dragons were up 58-45 going into the final frame.
After a close start to the quarter, the Dragons went on a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 68-52 with 4:41 left in the game. The Dragons were able to keep a two-possession lead down the stretch to beat Trevecca 75-58.
Dana Rose led the offense with 21 points shooting 8-for-9 from the field and 5-for-6 from the free throw line, grabbed three rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, Brianna O'Connor was second on the team in scoring with 14 points shooting 5-for-8 from the field and 2-for-3 from three-point range and one assist, and Savanah Richards recorded eight points shooting 4-for-7 from the field, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
