Women's Basketball Records Top GPA in Division II

ATLANTA - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) has released the 2018-19 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls for all divisions, and Tiffin women's basketball sits alone atop the Division II rankings.

The Dragons achieved an incredible cumulative GPA of 3.809, which was not only the best in DII, but second out of all women's basketball programs in the country. Only the NAIA's Indiana Tech recorded a higher GPA last year with a 3.817.

Led by first-year head coach Jessie Ivey, Tiffin was one of three GMAC schools to factor into the Top-25, joined by Findlay at No. 5 and Walsh at No. 23.

TU's work in the classroom was truly remarkable this year, as this recognition also comes after all 13 members of the program were named to the GMAC Academic All-Conference Team a couple of weeks ago.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2018-19 season is the 24th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
