Williams Signs With Women's Basketball

Kirsten Williams has announced her intention to continue her athletic and academic careers at Tiffin University.

Williams is a 5'8" guard/forward out of Beavercreek High School and is from Fairborn, Ohio. In her senior season at Beavercreek, she averaged 7.6 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, 1.3 assists per game, and 2.5 steals per game.

"Kirsten did a little bit of everything for us," said her high school coach, Ed Zink. "She is an athletic player who has a high basketball IQ (both her parents were basketball coaches), and is a very coachable and hard working player with a great attitude who puts the team before herself. She did whatever we needed her to do to make the team better."

During the course of her high school career, Williams was a three-time varsity letterwinner. In her senior season, she led the team in rebounding and blocks, was named Second Team All-Conference, and played in the District 15 All-Star game.

"I am so excited for this opportunity for Kirsten," said Meredith Conner, coach of Dayton Metro AAU. "She is a coach's dream...talented, hard-working, and a tremendous teammate!"

On why she chose to become a Dragon, Williams said, "Tiffin is the perfect university for me not only because of the athletics but because of the academics as well. The coaches are great people who I know will push me to be the best I can be. The university is the perfect size, not too big where you can get lost in the shuffle but also not too small. So glad to be a Dragon!"

Academically, Williams received the Scholar-Athlete award in high school and intends to major in Exercise Science at Tiffin.
