Tiffin University (14-11, 6-4 G-MAC) picked up a win in the opener but couldn't pull off the sweep at Kentucky Wesleyan, falling on a walkoff 3-run home run in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Tiffin opened with a 2-1 win as Sarah Klein posted a solid pitching performance over 7 innings, allowing just 5 hits and no earned runs with 5 strikeouts.

The Dragons got two runs in the third inning. With two outs, Libby Crow laid down a bunt single and was followed by Brooke Lambert's single. Hayley Kobie then laced a double to drive in both runners as TU took a 2-0 lead.

Klein made the lead stand up, allowing an unearned run in the fifth inning but pitching out of jams in the sixth and seventh inning. The Panthers had the tying run on in both innings but Klein escaped with the victory.

Kobie had 3 hits with a double for 2 RBI while Crow also had two hits.

The nightcap was a more offensive game, with the two teams combining for 22 hits. The Dragons accounted for 12 of those hits but they ended up stranding 10 runners.

TU opened with a run in the first. Crow singled while Jamie Sevenish reached on an error at first that put runners on second and third. Lambert then plated a run on a bunt single but Sevenish was tossed out at the plate.

After KWC tied it 1-1 with a run in the third, the Dragons got two more runs in the fifth. Kobie singled and Heidi Marshall then reached on a fielder's choice. After both runners were sacrificed up a base, Kaylee Savage hit a two-out single for an RBI, while Gabrielle Hess followed with a double for another RBI. The frame ended with Savage getting thrown out at home after Hess's double.

Still, TU led 3-1 heading to the final two innings. The Panthers took advantage of a TU error to eventually scratch across a run in the sixth inning to make it 3-2, TU heading to the bottom of the seventh.

With two on and two out, Victoria Edwards could not get the final out, as the Panthers smacked a three-run walkoff home run to spoil the sweep for the Dragons.

Edwards took the tough loss, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing 10 hits.

Kobie had 3 hits, while Hess had 2 hits with a double. Abbey Zedaker also had 2 hits while Sevenish added a triple.
