Tiffin University (6-3) gave up runs in the late innings in both of their games at Eckerd College, falling 7-1 in the opener and 7-4 in the nightcap.

The nightcap was especially disappointing, as the Dragons held a 4-2 lead entering the bottom of the 7th inning after a superb opening 6 innings from Kimmy Reynolds.

Trailing 1-0 in the second inning, TU started a two-out rally, as Alayna Lytle and April Bennett singles to get things going. Liibby Crow then singled to drive in one run, and an error by the pitcher on a Jamie Sevenish swing gave TU a 2-1 lead. TU then pulled a double steal, with Crow stealing home as TU took a 3-1 lead.

Ahead 3-2 in the fourth inning, TU tacked on another run when Lytle singled and was then moved to second on a sacrifice. Crow then singled, and an ensuing throwing error by the pitcher let Lytle come around to score to give TU a 4-2 lead.

Then came the 7th inning.

Needing just three outs, things never got on track in the final frame, as a walk and an error started the inning. A single by Eckerd made it 4-3, Tiffin, but then another walk and a wild pitch tied the score at 4-4. After Reynolds got a strikeout, Eckerd drilled a walk off home run to end the game and give Eckerd a sweep.

Reynolds took the loss, going 6.1 innings and allowing 5 hits with 7 walks and 9 strikeouts for 6 earned runs. Crow had 3 hits with an RBI, while Lytle also had 2 hits.

In the opener, Tiffany Snell was cruising heading into the fifth inning, but then the wheels came off as Eckerd exploded for 6 runs in the inning.

Eckerd totaled 5 hits and a walk in the inning to chase Snell, who went 4.1 innings and allowed 6 earned runs. Faiith Bogard then came in and allowed no earned runs over her 1.2 innings of work.

TU's lone run came in the 6th inning, when Crow singled and Brooke Lambert drove her home with a double.
