Dragons Finish Season With Findlay

The Tiffin University softball team will look to end on a high note on Friday, welcoming in the University of Findlay for a pair of games. The Dragons will bid farewell to three seniors on Friday -Kate-Lynn Urgo, Michelle Poe, and Sydney Priest.

Series Record Since 2010: The Dragons hold a 12-8 series lead over the Oilers.

Oilers: Findlay is 19-22 overall and 9-11 in GLIAC play. In the conference standings, the Oilers are 9th, four games ahead of the Dragons. Findlay has lost three straight games, and have dropped 10 of 18 games in April.

Pitching Problems: The Oilers have a 3.85 earned run average, 9th in the GLIAC and 1.69 runs higher than last season. Unearned runs and extra outs due in large part to errors have hampered the Oilers' pitching staff.

Stone Hands: Findlay has a .945 fielding percentage, 11th in the GLIAC and 221st of 286 NCAA Division II teams. Findlay has allowed 202 runs this season, with 47 being unearned.

Hits Wanted: Findlay has the second lowest season hit total in the GLIAC at 275, leading to their .249 batting average. When Findlay has made contact, they've made it count. The Oilers have 21 home runs, and 26% of their hits have been for extra bases.

Twin Killing: Findlay has hit into 15 double plays this year, trailing only Grand Valley State for the most in the GLIAC. 

Tiffin: The Dragons are 20-27 overall and 5-15 in GLIAC games. For only the second time since 2010, Tiffin will finish the year with a record under .500. In the month of April, Tiffin is 6-14.

Power Down: The Dragons have 353 hits this season, with the vast majority being singles. Tiffin is last in the GLIAC in extra base hits, with only 14% of their hits this season being for extra bases. 

Runs At A Premium: The Tiffin pitching staff has thrown the ball well all year, posting a 2.59 earned run average. The Dragons staff has suffered some tough losses, dropping 11 one run games. Opponents are averaging only 3.72 runs per game this month, but the Dragons' offense has managed only 3.22 runs. 

Catch Sevenish If You Can: Jamie Sevenish has had a great season for Tiffin, posting a team high .379 batting average with a team high 55 hits, .416 on-base percentage, and 16 stolen bases. The 16 steals is the 4th most compiled in a season in the Tiffin University Division II record book.
