Jonathan Alexis has joined Tiffin University's track and field coaching staff. He will be focusing on horizontal jumps and multis.

While coaching from 2020-23 at Iowa Central Community College, Alexis coached 38 NJCAA All-Americans, 54 All-Region XI performances, 50 all-time Triton top-10 performances, and 3 school records. In 2023, he was named the USTFCCCA Men's and Women's Indoor Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year, his fourth regional assistant coach of the year award.

In his second season, he coached two athletes to NJCAA All-America performances. At the 2022 Indoor NJCAA Championships, Roman Kuleshov was crowned national champion in the triple jump as well as a third place finish in the long jump. Nicola Paletti also earned third place in the heptathlon. At the 2022 Outdoor NJCAA Championships, Aries Scott earned a third place finish in the Decathlon. In addition, Alexis coached Martin Lamou to an NJCAA Indoor #8 All-Time performance (16.33 meters) in the triple jump. Lamou was also awarded the 2022 Indoor ICCAC/Region XI Field Athlete of the Year award as well as the 2022 USTFCCCA Indoor Midwest Region Field Athlete of the Year award. Scott was awarded the 2022 Outdoor ICCAC/Region XI Field Athlete of the Year award and the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. Coach Alexis was voted the USTFCCCA Indoor Midwest Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year.

In his first season he coached two athletes to three NJCAA All-American performances. At the 2021 Indoor NJCAA Championships, David Bosquez Grimaldo and Nico Paletti both finished as national runners-up in the high jump and heptathlon events respectively.  At the Outdoor championships, Paletti finished third in the Decathlon. He also coached freshman Aries Scott, who was named the Region XI Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year as well as the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. Alexis was voted the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year.

Prior to Iowa Central, Alexis coached at Carver Academy in Chester, VA. The team had a record breaking season with its first-ever district champion in the boys high jump, regional champion in the boys 4x400m relay and boys high jump, and a third place finish in the 4x400m and fourth place finish in the boys 400m at the VHSL 1A Championship. There were over ten school records set, six All-Tidewater performers, five All-Region 1B performers and one All-VHSL 1A performer.

While at Virginia Union University, Alexis served as the assistant coach of horizontal jumps. While there he coached three school records in the men's indoor long jump, men's heptathlon and men's outdoor long jump. He coached three NCAA Division II qualifiers. He also coached two CIAA champions in the men's long jump, ten All-CIAA performances, and one NCAA Division II All-American in the men's triple jump. 

Alexis earned his AA in Liberal Arts from Kingsborough Community College and BA in English from Virginia Union University. He holds a USATF Level I coaching certification and his USTFCCCA Combined Events Certification.
