McPherson, Bain, Kean lead G-MAC Men's Outdoor awards

Tiffin University was honored with three of the major awards as the G-MAC announced its outdoor track and field honors.

Jacob McPherson was named Field Athlete of the Year while Shimar Bain was named Freshman of the Year. Kevin Kean was also named Outdoor Coach of the Year after leading the Dragons to a first-place finish at the G-MAC Championships.

McPherson earned First Team All-American honors in the shot put at the NCAA National Championships, finishing 7th overall. This marks McPherson's fifth All-American honor, his third in outdoor competition. He also earned First Team honors in the hammer throw with a fourth-place mark. 

Bain had a strong debut season for TU, qualifying for NCAA Nationals in the 400 hurdles (finishing 18th). He also was part of the 4x400 relay team of Michael McNeil, Drevon Trapp, and Dylan Randall, which earned First Team honors by the conference.

Other First Team honorees included Steele Butzin (javelin), Collin Jasin (pole vault), and Widchard Guervil (100 meters). 

Landing Second Team selection was Garrett Wilson (javelin), Garrett Hoepf (high jump), and Malachi Adams (100 meters, 4x100 relay).

Lastly, Yassin Khalfaoui (javelin), Drevon Trapp (400 meters), and Benedict Draghi (discus) were Third Team picks.
